Richard Baines - Partner, Turnaround, Restructuring & Insolvency

Richard Baines is a Partner in the Corporate & Commercial team and Head of Turnaround, Restructuring & Insolvency. Throughout his career in City of London, Richard has specialised in all aspects of business turnaround, restructuring and insolvency including assignments with cross-border elements. His clients include trading companies, banks and other lenders, private equity investors, company directors and insolvency practitioners. He has wide experience including the following sectors: retail, commercial property, financial services, insurance & reinsurance, oil & gas, manufacturing, telecommunications, media, technology and charities.

Richard is a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3) and a member of Insol International and the International Bar Association. He qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and has been a licensed insolvency practitioner since 1990. His recent publications include a series of articles on restructuring and insolvency topics in The In-House Lawyer. Richard lives in north London, with his wife Jacki and has two grown-up children. He is a keen sports fan and also enjoys sailing, music and theatre.
