City of London law firm, Druces LLP, has been shortlisted in two categories for the WealthBriefing European Awards 2017.

The firm has been shortlisted for Private Client Law Firm of the Year on a ticket of cutting edge tax advice and old fashioned ‘client service first’.

Robert Macro, Partner and Head of the firm’s International Wealth & Fiduciary team, has also been shortlisted as Private Client Lawyer of the Year. The International Wealth & Fiduciary team was first established at Druces when Robert joined the firm with colleague Neil Morris just last year in March 2016.

The awards, now in its fifth year, showcase the ‘best of breed’ providers in the global private banking, wealth management and trusted advisor communities. They are designed to recognise companies, teams and individuals which the prestigious panel of judges believe have ‘demonstrated innovation and excellence during 2016’.

The nominations coincide with a very special milestone for Druces as it celebrates 250 years since the firm was founded in the City of London. As it looks ahead to future growth and continued success, Senior Partner Roy Campbell, commented: “It’s a really great year for Druces and a great honour to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards.  To be recognised in two categories is testament to the work, dedication and commitment that our private client team makes to the firm, and beyond to the wider impact that they have on our clients.”

He added: “we aim to continue to enhance the support we provide to our clients as changes in the UK market continue to develop. This recognition by industry leaders will play a huge part in reaching this goal.”

ClearView Financial Media’s Chief Executive, and Publisher of WealthBriefing, Stephen Harris, was first to extend his congratulations to the shortlisted firms.  He said: “The firms who have been shortlisted in these awards are all worthy competitors, and I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations.  These awards are judged on the basis of entrants’ submissions and their response to a number of specific questions, which had to be answered focusing on the client experience, not quantitative performance metrics.  That is a unique, and I believe, compelling feature.  These awards will recognise the very best operators in the private client industry, with ‘independence’, ‘integrity’ and ‘genuine insight’ the watchwords of the judging process – such that the awards truly reflect excellence in wealth management.  Our aim is to make these annual awards one of the brightest, and keenly contested highlights in the wealth management calendar.”

Winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner, which will be held in London on 11 May at The Guildhall.
