In the 2023 edition of The Legal 500, Druces is pleased to announce that for the first time, our Construction team have been named as a ‘Firm to Watch’ in both the contentious and non-contentious practice areas.

Within the last year, our Construction department was significantly strengthened with the arrival of Richard Bailey (Partner) and Laughlan Steer (Senior Associate), so as a firm it is satisfying to see their practice being instantly recognised within the directory.

Their introduction to the firm has led to an increased synergy between the Real Estate and Dispute Resolution team, from international arbitration to adjudication – for which we now offer a fixed fee service – the firm has bolstered its strength on the contentious side of construction whilst maintaining a strong presence within the non-contentious area.

This achievement adds to a fantastic year overall for the Real Estate department, earlier in 2022 winning Gold in the ‘Property Law Firm of the Year’ category at Citywealth’s Magic Circle Awards. It also showcases the growing strength of our Dispute Resolution team, which has grown significantly this year with several high-profile hires and an improved range of services.

Construction Partner, Richard Bailey, commented on The Legal 500 ranking:

“We are very pleased to be recognised as a ‘Firm to Watch’ in this year’s Legal 500. I came here with the vision to build the Construction practice at Druces and this first-time ranking is a clear indication of that becoming a reality. We are currently a firm to watch, but I have no doubt that if we continue to deliver excellent, cost-effective client services, we will be a fully recognised, go-to firm within the sector.”
