Wills, Tax & Estate Planning

We have many years of experience in helping clients to think about the inheritance they would like to leave for their heirs and then planning that inheritance in a tax-efficient way.

For most clients, a first step is to have an effective Will in place. Regardless of how simple or complex your financial or family situation may be, a Will gives you the ability to determine what happens to your property and assets after your death. It can also give you the peace of mind that your affairs are in good order.

People who die without a valid Will, should be aware that their assets will pass in accordance with fixed rules, laid down by law; this may not reflect their wishes. It may also increase the costs of – and the amount of inheritance tax – payable when they die.

Our experience extends not only to UK clients but also to non-UK domiciled and resident individuals. We have expertise in dealing with worldwide assets, trusts, business transfers on death, succession and tax planning and asset protection.

Beyond the preparation of Wills, our wider estate planning services encompasses advice to UK and international clients in relation to all their affairs; this includes advice on efficient tax-structuring. Our good standing with HMRC puts us in a strong position to help, often finding simple solutions to tax problems that may have arisen.
