Richard is Head of Druces’ Private Client, Tax and Employment teams. He joined Druces in September 1981 and having qualified in September 1983 became a partner at the firm in May 1985.
Richard lives in Colchester with his wife and children. He enjoys walking and country pursuits but spends a growing amount of his spare time trying to prevent Muntjac deer destroying his garden.
Richard is recognised for his expertise on charities and not-for-profit in Legal 500, 2019, which says that he is ‘very realistic and is able to respond quickly to problems. He has extensive knowledge of charity law’. Richard is acknowledged for leading the team on personal tax, trusts and probate, which is ‘very efficient and client-focused and comes up with creative solutions to suit its clients’ needs’.
His work within this area was also highly regarded in Legal 500, 2017 which described him as ‘very thorough and focused on practical solutions’.
