In 2009 the National Council for Palliative Care set up the Dying Matters Coalition to promote public awareness of dying, death and bereavement. Their annual “Dying Matters Awareness Week” is running this year from the 12th to the 18th May with the theme of ‘you only die once’ emphasising that we only get one chance to have our dying wishes met.

If you want to ensure that your dying wishes are met then now is a good opportunity to make a will and guarantee that provisions are in place for your loved ones when you are no longer around. It is also advisable to set up a Lasting Power of Attorney as soon as possible so that in the event that you lose capacity, even temporarily, your wishes will still be adhered to.

Please speak to a member of Druces LLP’s Private Client team if you require any further information.
